N. Jakarta Vice Mayor Distributes Assistance to Flood Survivors in Sukapura"The fulfillment of food leading up to Ramadan should be anticipated, paying attention as early as possible to production and distribution factors," he expressed, at City Council building, Friday (1/31).
He asked the Jakarta Government to strengthen cooperation in procuring basic commodities from various sources from areas around Jakarta and other areas.
He also emphasized the importance of maintaining logistics warehouses during Ramadan.
"Don't let there be any problems because our logistics warehouses are not ready to meet food needs. If we look at BMKG, extreme weather will continue from January to February," he explained.
He even encouraged the active role of PT Food Station Tjipinang Jaya, Perumda Pasar Jaya, and Perumda Dharma Jaya in meeting food needs, one of which is through market operations ahead of Ramadan.
"Stock fulfillment is the key to mitigating the potential rise in prices," he explained.
He added that government intervention through subsidies on certain types of food could be a solution to keep prices affordable.
"Then regional inflation can be controlled, and the issue of the affordability of food prices can also be addressed," he said.
